Hello Beloved! We are so happy to walk this path of wellness with you. Today we will launch our 5 week series, tackling the lies we believe that influence how we feed our bodies. We will remix the teaching of Asheritah Ciuciu, articulated in "5 Common Food Lies Women Believe (and How to Fight Back)". In it, she challenges us to consider the word of God as a reliable weapon for fighting our day-to-day battles on this side of heaven.
The weapons we must use to fight this food fixation are not the weapons of this world—diet fads, miracle foods, or positive thinking—but rather spiritual weapons that have divine power to demolish strongholds, specifically, every thought or argument that contradicts God. Our technique? “We take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Today we tackle the lie that seeks to pervert our desire to be responsible stewards: "I can't let this food waste." We make a hearty meal and find that we have overflow and feel compelled to eat it so that we are not wasteful. But, as Asheritah asserts, we are not trashcans! Instead she encourages us to embrace the truth that we are the temples of the Living God. (1 Corinthians 6: 19). We don't trash the temple of God. We honor it. So what can we do with the overflow?
Choose one or all of the four options below to help you be a responsible steward over your body and your resources.
Happy temple building!
Take care. Bless many.
