EarthBasic. Take care. Bless many.
The self that wants to honor God in her body is convinced of her need to be well. She is convinced that entering into a state of wellness will require a lifetime of choosing life. It will require the kind of discipline the Holy Spirit alone can sustain. This self hears the call of a good and beautiful future and wants to be strong as she enters it. She wants to be able to hold all the bounty to come without breaking.
But, at her first step, there appears a voice. This voice counsels in fear and shame. It says: You have to get in shape-your indiscipline is a disgrace! How can you counsel and fail?! It taunts with before and now images and makes her feel ashamed to exhale fully as she breathes. This voice is a task master, who has no love. It beats into submission, so that when the goal is met-when the exterior looks superior-fear cripples her enjoyment. Fear of losing what was gained under tyranny. Yet, there is another voice. It is the voice that calls up. It is full of love and truth. It is full of love, truth and the supernatural enabling power of God to choose life, in spite how many other days she spent choosing fleeting pleasures and quick sugary escapes. And one step at a time, as she heeds this voice, she is being transformed into the strong woman who can hold the bounty of her God-given future without breaking. Beloved, heed His voice. Let Him counsel you in your new beginnings, and forsake Him not along the way. Let His love move you. Let His love call you off the couch and sustain you in postures that first tear, but later build muscle. Be transformed by love, from beginning to end. Happy temple building! Take care. Bless many.
