EarthBasic. Take care. Bless many.
Hello Beloved! This week's temple building tip is (mostly) simple: get to know your family's history. Many health problems, including the likelihood of getting cancer, can be predicted by the health history of those who have gone before you. We know that these conversations can be quite difficult, but the knowledge you get can help you to be proactive in securing your health. Some of you may be adopted or for other reasons unaware of your family history. In these cases, it is wise to disclose this to your primary care physician so that you may be preemptively screened for known indicators that may impact your future health.
Use this family risk assessment tool by The Susan G. Komen Foundation to get you started and then have it handy when next you see your doctor: https://apps.komen.org/FamilyHealthHistoryTool/html/fhh.html?action=create. Learn more about the impact of family history on your risk of developing cancer by listening to this interview by Breast Cancer Care (approximately 6 minutes): https://soundcloud.com/breast-cancer-care/family-history-breast-awareness-faqs Happy temple building! Take care. Bless many.
