Take care of your emotional life. In order to take care of your emotional life you will have to take stock of your thought life. The heart that thinks on what is untrue, ignoble, wrong, impure, unlovely, deplorable, inferior and disgraceful becomes toxic emotionally. When our hearts are turbulent we are vulnerable--vulnerable to making poor decisions that impact our physical health. We overeat, live a sedentary lifestyle and abuse drugs--all choices impacting the major indicators of heart health, i.e. blood pressure, body mass index, fasting blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
But, there is good news! We are His beloved daughters, seated with Him in the heavenly places and given the mind that is in Him our head. (Ephesians 2:6). Put on the Helmet of Salvation, that you may guard your heart (mind). (Ephesians 6:17). Read the book of Ephesians and be encouraged to battle in the strength of the Lord by this teaching on the Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer:
