Healthy sleep is essential for a healthy life. Last week we considered the benefits and characteristics of healthy sleep. Today, and over the course of the next 3 weeks, we will share tips to support you in embracing the benefits of healthy sleep. This week's tip is to establish a schedule conducive to sleep. The National Sleep Foundation recommends creating a routine that gradually prepares you for sleep, by reducing exciting and potentially stressful stimuli. Some of its suggestions include taking a warm bath or shower, reading a book or engaging in light stretches. (The National Sleep Foundation). Below is our recommended schedule for the hour before you go to bed:
