A New Creation

Dear Be-Held Woman,

There are so many stories vying for our attention. Talk is cheap. The airwaves will carry anything. But, we must not believe everything. I am praying for you, what I am praying for myself: discernment. I am praying for you to enter the lived reality of hearing, with certainty, the voice of our Good Shepherd, who is also the life, truth and way. When He opens His mouth truth is what we hear. He can only speak the truth. Every voice that does not align with what He has said and is saying is a liar. Every single one. No matter the packaging. No matter the credentials behind the name. No matter how much they sound like mama and dem. No matter how much they sound like you. The standard for truth is is it from Jesus.  (John 10: 11 - 18; 14:6). The standard for truth is does it align with the Word of God that points to Jesus. (John 5:39).

Sisters, Jesus has spoken and is still speaking. He is consistently telling our true stories. He is consistently speaking the truth of our beginnings in God and our good and expected end. He is consistently speaking the truth of our lives hidden in Him. (Colossians 3: 1 - 4). He is consistently speaking the truth of His undying and unconditional love for us. (Romans 8: 38 - 39 and 1 John 4:10). He is consistently speaking of the effectiveness of His finished work. (John 19: 28 - 30). He is consistently speaking of the reality of our existence as the new creation. We are the new creation. Everything about the true us is new. Everything. We have a new history-beginning, middle and end. We have a new and determined purpose. (2 Corinthians 5:17 - 21).

The new creation does not know separation from God. It does not have a history of abandonment, nor rejection. Your spirit- it has only known the cool of the day. Your soul is being renewed. It is is arriving to the resting place of your spirt. Rise. Wash. Repeat. Keep walking. Keep coming. You are stepping into greater measures of light. (2 Corinthians 4:16). Keep pressing through the valley. The shadows cannot harm you. (Psalm 23: 4 - 6). Let the layers fall to the ground. They are not the true you. Let them fall and do not try to gather them again. Keep pressing forward. Keep shedding the layers. When you arrive you will be naked and unashamed. Completely unashamed. (Genesis 2 and Revelation 22).
