Be-Held Book Community Chapter Development Guidelines
As a Be-Held Book Community Chapter, you commit to serving as an ambassador of God's grace, shown to us in Jesus Christ, as you encourage women in living in the fullness of life of which the Good News speaks. Every chapter must meet the following guidelines:
1. Appoint an onsite chapter leader who will carry out the mission of the chapter, in agreement with the values and principles of EarthBasic.
2. Establish a quorum of 3 people, which can include the chapter leader, who will carry out the work and submit the names and contact information of all appointed.
3. Create a consistent meeting schedule, which should be publicized to support the inclusion of as many women as would prove themselves to have a genuine heart for the mission of the Be-Held Book Community, and can be served by the current leadership. *All chapter sites and schedules will be posted on the Be-Held Book Community webpage and associated sites.
4. Employ Holy Spirit directed creativity to plan and implement actions, events and or programming to encourage its members in seeking, living and being transformed by the truth of God’s Word TOGETHER, in agreement with the mission of the Be-Held Book Community.
5. Read one of the Christ-centered books appointed for the season in community every month. Chapter leaders have liberty in organizing polls, etc. to determine which of the appointed books they will read and in which month.
6. Use the study and discussion materials created by EarthBasic to support engagement with selected books. Chapter leaders may develop additional and or related resources that reflect sound doctrine and promote proper Bible reading and interpretation as an anchor for verifying and engaging the claims of any text. *Evidence of a lack of concern for sound doctrine and or properly dividing the Word will be grounds for revocation of chapter designation.
7. Submit its plans to EarthBasic in advance of implementation. This maybe done semiannually or, if chapter is also bound to submit to the oversight of a home-base institution, at the point of submission deadlines for that institution. *If requiring oversight of a home-base institution, it must submit a letter of approval bearing the signature of an official within the institution.
8. Submit a mid-year reflection on each year's service. Reflection form will be sent electronically from EarthBasic for electronic submission in February of each calendar year.
9. Submit chapter dues in the amount of USD$100 for the year. Dues are due at the point of submitting the mid-year reflection. All other monies raised may be enjoyed by the chapter in agreement with the mission of EarthBasic and the Church Universal. *Dues will be used to support the mission of EarthBasic through the provision of the Be-Held Trunk Library Award - a donation of a well researched starter library to support women and children in their walk with Jesus Christ.
10. Operate under the name Be-Held Book Community and demonstrate a commitment to spreading EarthBasic's mission in its community and encouraging the formation of other chapters.
11. Enjoy special discounts on EarthBasic products and services and or that of their partners. *Discounts will be shared with chapters via chapter leaders.
