Worship Rise

Read |Romans 12:1 - 2|

We begin at the foot of the cross. Our kneeling before the finished work of Jesus Christ becomes our very first act of worship. We have, for the very first time in our lives, acknowledged who God is and that He is worthy. We have chosen, by His grace, to bow willingly.

Our bowing gives us entrance into a lifestyle of worship. From the cross to the grave to the sky; our coming and going; our rising and setting; our living, even our dying is to be replete with worship. In all of our living is to be the witness that God is who He says He is and He alone is worthy of the praise. He is worthy of whatever we deny in this earthly plain.

And so we walk this earth with a crown of thorns, just like He did. We are misunderstood. We are despised. We are persecuted. And we count it all joy, for we are becoming just like our Teacher. (John 15:18-25). We read in the scratching of our flesh, the witness that we are no longer our own, we are His. (1 Peter 4:1). We remember the days when we suffered for unrighteousness and see how we now suffer for the noble cause of Jesus Christ and our souls rejoice. (1 Peter 3:8-17).

We despise not the weight of the cross we carry. We take it all the way uphill, knowing that with each step the very Spirit of Jesus Christ is preparing us to be a people who can offer a perfect obedience. (Titus 2:14). We are pressing that we may present to Him, whether in life or death, a most fragrant offering-a life poured out so that He may be lifted high. He is worthy!
