Reread His "Love Letters"

I love gift giving! The heart pregnant with love pours its intentions into right brain, and before you know it, glue, card stock, ribbons and other crafting delights are at hand. The thought of bringing a moment of comfort and joy to another provides great zeal for the hours of labor. And once the thing is born, the excitement arrives. I can't wait to give it away! This I inherited from our Father who, with lovingkindness, creates open doors, hearts, minds and eyes --movement and stillness--so that we may receive and behold the beauty He gifts us everyday.  All His gifts, echo of His great love. Not too long ago, I paused to reread His "love letters":

Crisp air
Breeze
Birds in communal flight
The texture of an ancient tree's bark
The colors of the leaves as they turn in anticipation of the fall before Winter
The smiles of children
The light in their eyes
The wise words of babes, their laughter filling the air
The perfectly timed memory of a warm embrace on a cold day
The floating scent of almonds to remind me of my mother's breast
The stewed chicken feet, which remind me of my father's love gifts--sometimes easily forgotten
The punchline of a joke shared between siblings You've made dear friends
The opening of peonies
The brilliant head of a sunflower
The vibrant colors of a tulip bed
The singing of Te Deum on my birthday
