Read |Luke 1:26-38|One had found the other. Mary had found Joseph, and Joseph had found Mary. They were soon to be married, and then the interruption. They were soon to be married, and then the invitation to Mary to carry the promised One who would tread upon the head of our enemy and bring us to true life.
This Word that intervened in her plans and presented opportunity to inhabit a most sacred call, found acceptance in Mary's heart. And because this Word found a place to lay its head until the fullness of time, today, hope abounds in our hearts. Mary is exceptional in all of creation, but she is also like all of us. We all have been made for His glory. We are all made to carry, to term, His pure, good and loving heart in this world. And in order to live fully and uniquely, this call, we will need to say yes to the invitation. The Word He has pronounced over our lives, will need to find acceptance in our hearts. But what is it that Mary knew that made her able to declare, "I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true." (Luke 1:38, NLT) ? Mary knew...
